SYDNEY, NS - The CAPERS men's soccer team were victorious over the UNB Reds with a score of 3-1 in the home opener at Ness Timmons Field.

The first half of the game was scoreless despite a couple opportunities for each team. At 2 minutes into the second half, Max Piepgrass scored on a penalty kick. At the 60 minute mark, UNB's Caleb Kemper snuck one past CAPERS keeper Jack Harrington which was assisted by Alex Oprea. The CAPERS responded 3 minutes later with a goal scored by Amadou Bayo and assisted by Joe Mac. With the game winding down, the CAPERS secured the win with a sweet penalty kick from outside the box by Max Piepgrass, who earned the SUBWAYS CBRM Player of the Game.

The CBU CAPERS next game is on Friday, September 12^th against the Saint Mary's Huskies. It is Hero's night in partnership with Caleb's Courage. The women will kick off at 5 and the men will kick off at 7:30. The CAPERS take the field again on Sunday Sept 14^th with the women playing at 11:00 and the men playing at 1:30.
