The CBU CAPERS came out the winners of game 2 of a double header against the MUN Seahawks in AUS women's soccer action today in St. John's, Newfoundland. The CAPERS managed to get 5 shots off in the first half but couldn't get it past the Seahawks keeper. Keeper, Ellie Lancaster, stopped both shots in the first to send the teams to the dressing room with a scorless first half. About 10 minutes into the second half, Grace Hannaford got one past the Seahawks keeper to get the first point on the board. Makenna Bowser added the assist on the goal. The Seahawks had 5 shots in the second half but Lancaster kept the CAPERS in the lead with yet another shutout. This win brings the CAPERS to a record of 4-1-2 and sitting in the number 4 spot in the conference just past the half way point of the season.
The CAPERS return home to Ness Timmons Field on Saturday, September 27 to face off against Moncton. Please visit cbu.ca or gocapersgo.com to purchase your tickets online and head directly to the gate to get your ticket scanned. See you there!
