Local athlete, Clark Reid, to join CBU Varsity Track & Field in the Fall
CAPERS Track & Field would like to welcome Clark Reid to their Varsity program for the 2026-27 season.
Clarke is a 6'0" jumper and sprinter from Blackett's Lake, Nova Scotia. He has been active with the Riverview Ravens cross country and track & field teams and well as with Celtic Athletics, the local track & field club.
"Having been actively involved in the local track and field community throughout my middle and high school years, I have been eager to continue developing as an athlete and to contribute to the ongoing success of CBU's Track and Field Program," Clark shared.
Clarke has also been actively involved in the youth training programs led by CBU Head Coach John Hudec in a joint venture between the CBU track & field club and Celtic Athletics. "Clark Reid exemplifies the type of athletes we are recruiting to the CBU Varsity track and field team," shared Hudec. "Clark has been our most consistent athlete training with the CBU track and field youth program for five years now. He has shown constant improvement. He began as a high jumper but now shows great potential as a long jumper and sprinter as well. We are excited to have Clark joining our team and are expecting his training attitude to contribute to both his performances and to a positive team culture."
While attending Cape Breton University, Clarke plans to pursue a Bachelor of Arts. When asked why he chose CBU for his academic and athletic journey, he replied, "I chose Cape Breton University for my post-secondary education because of its smaller size and welcoming environment, which allows students to benefit from supportive class settings and personalized learning experiences, all while remaining close to home."
The CBU track & field club trains throughout the summer and fall with the Varsity season officially starting in December with the AUS Championships taking place in February. "I am excited to challenge myself and take my track and field training to the next level, seeing how I can improve with the guidance and expertise of John Hudec and the CBU coaching staff."
Welcome to the CAPER family Clark! We look forward to seeing you in action next season.
