CAPERS top the Seahawks 100-79
SYDNEY, NS – The CBU CAPERS won the first of 2 games against the Memorial Seahawks this weekend at the Sullivan Fieldhouse in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action.
The Seahawks took the early lead but were soon overcome by the CAPERS who were up 11-7 halfway through the first. The Seahawks then kickstarted their offence to come back to be ahead 20-19 at the end of the quarter. The scoring was pretty even for the beginning of the second until the 6-minute mark when the CAPERS went on a 19-point run to close out the half ahead 54-35.
The Seahawks dropped a few baskets in the opening of the second half, but it was not enough to keep up with the pace of CBU. The CAPERS kept the scoring streak going and closed the third up by 31 points. The fourth quarter had the same tone and despite the effort of the Seahawks, the CAPERS dominated the offence and hit 100 points to take the win 100-79.
Jodick Moudiandambu scored a game high 30 points for the Seahawks. Bower Issacs added 13 points and Josh Reimer netted 8.
Stefan Anisko, the Subways of CBRM Player of the Game, led the CAPERS with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Five other CAPERS were in the double digits for points: Liai Tong with 15, Oroma Bongomin with 14, Aaron Cunningham with 13 and Cardy Jean and Tayshaun Thomas both added 10.
