Shakael Pryce – a fourth-year guard with the Cape Breton University (CBU) CAPERS men's varsity basketball team – is the 7by7 Restaurant CBU male athlete of the week for the week ending Dec. 1.
On Nov. 29, at Sullivan Fieldhouse on the CBU campus, the Bachelor of Business Administration student finished with six points, four assists and two steals – in 26 minutes of court time – as the CAPERS dropped an 84-71 decision to the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks.
On the following afternoon (Nov. 30), a 106-80 victory over the Sea-Hawks, the native of Pickering, Ontario, finished with a game-high 30 points and nine rebounds, while adding four rebounds and two steals. In 30 minutes of playing time, he shot 11-for-17 from the field, including six-for-12 from beyond the three-point line.
Pryce is averaging 20.2 points, which places him fourth in the conference, and an AUS-best 6.8 assists per game.
The CAPERS will return to regular season action on Friday, Jan. 10, in Fredericton versus the UNB Reds.

Name: Kiyara Letlow

Sport: Women's Basketball
Position: Forward

Academic program: Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies
Kiyara Letlow – a fourth-year forward with the Cape Breton University (CBU) CAPERS varsity basketball team, averaged a double-double in a pair of home court match-ups with the Memorial Sea-Hawks in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) action over the weekend – is the 7by7 Restaurant CBU female athlete of the week for the week ending Dec. 1.
On Nov. 29, at Sullivan Fieldhouse on the CBU campus, the Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies student finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and one blocked shot – in 27 minutes of court time – as the CAPERS scored an 87-63 win over the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks.
On the following afternoon (Nov. 30), the 6'1" native of Toronto collected 18 points, 21 rebounds, three assists and one steal – in 32 minutes – in a 79-75 triumph.
Letlow, who is averaging a double-double, tops the conference in both points (22.3) and rebounds (15.9) per game.
The CAPERS will return to regular season action on Friday, Jan. 10, in Fredericton versus the UNB Reds.
