Sydney, NS - The CBU CAPERS shut out the UPEI Panthers 2-0 in AUS Soccer action at Ness Timmons field today. At the 21 minute mark of the first half, Tara Isama fed the ball to Grace Hannaford who scored for the CAPERS to bring the score to 1-0. About 20 minutes later, Hannaford placed a corner kick right in front of the UPEI net and Makenna Bowser got it past the goalie to bring the score to 2-0. Panthers keeper, Claudia Mazzei, faced 7 shots on goal with 5 saves. CAPERS keeper, Ellie Lancaster, earned another shutout today, her third of the season. The CAPERS record at this point is 3-0-2 and the Panthers record is 0-5-1.
UPEI's next game will be at home against the X-Women at 5:00pm on Friday, September 19. The CAPERS will head to Newfoundland to play the Seahawks in back to back games on September 20 and 21. Both games will kick off at 1:00pm. Soccer action will return to Ness Timmons Field on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00pm when the CAPERS face off against Les Aigles Bleues de L'Université de Moncton.
