Sydney, NS –   2nd-Year Rachel Leck (Pickering, ON) scored both goals for the CAPERS in their 2-1 win over the UNB Reds. Madison Goertz (Saskatoon, SK) responded for the Reds.  4th -year Keeper Rachel Yerxa (Mississauga, ON) made 3 saves for the victory in the opening game for both teams. 

Turning Point: Leck's second goal of the game came in the 34th minute and gave the CAPERS the lead.

- CAPERS' Madison Goodliffe (Mississauga, ON) had 1 assist
- CBU Rookie Erin Freeman (Halifax, NS) had 4 shots on goal.
- Reds keeper led the game with 8 saves on 10 shots

- The CAPERS are the defending AUS Champions and National Silver Medalists. 
- Head Coach Ness Timmons is in his 23rd year.
- The UNB Reds have recently rebranded, changing from their longtime Varsity Reds nickname.
- There were no yellow cards in the game.
