Sydney, NS – The Cape Breton CAPERS beat the St.FX X-Women to win the Protocase Debbie Ruiz Tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. The CAPERS were led in scoring by Mackenzee Ryan (Glace Bay, NS) with 27 points. Senior Hannah Brown (North Sydney, NS) had 21 points and 7 rebounds and rookie Maia Waitling (Palmerston North, NZ) had 13 points and 7 rebounds. The X-Women were led by Jamie McCarron with 16 points and 4 assists in the loss. 

 

Turning Point: Hannah Brown scored 17 1stquarter point to stake the CAPERS to a 23-10 lead. The CAPERS were able to keep the lead throughout the rest of the game.

 

Leaders 

* CBU's Ryan led all scorers with 27 points

*   CAPERS Audrey Rankin (Prince George County, MD) led all players with 10 rebounds 

*   Toni Bianchini (Groves Point, NS)  led with 6 assists
