The Basics

Sydney, NS – Captain Stuart Heath (Belfast, IE)  and Daniel Pritchard each scored second-half goals as the CAPERS defeated the X-Men on Friday night. Dan Hayfield scored a late goal for the X-Men to cut the lead to one goal. Ben Jackson (Bury, UK) made 5 saves for the victory. 

Turning Point: The X-Men received a straight red card in the 80th minute for handling the ball on a clear scoring chance. The X-Men were down to 10 men and the CAPERS scored on the ensuing penalty to take a 2-0 lead. 


 Individual Leaders 
- CBU's Heath & Pritchard and X's Hayfield all had 1 goal
- CAPERS Cory Bent (Preston, UK) had the lone assist in the game.

  • Cape Breton's Jackson made 5 saves on 6 shots
  • X's Hayfield led all players with 3 shots on goal

- Bent was named the Subway Player of the Game 
- The CAPERS remain undefeated at 2-0-1, X falls to 2-1-0 
- The CAPERS are the defending 2017 AUS Champions & 2017 U Sports National Champions
