MSOC: Champs defeat Moncton 4-2!

The Basics

Sydney, NS – Captain Stuart Heath (Belfast, IE) paced CBU with two goals in their 4-2 hard fought victory over Moncton. 3rd-year Cory Bent (Preston, UK) added a goal and an assist and Daniel Pritchard (Nuneaton, UK) added an insurance goal in the 87th minute. The Aigles Bleus fought hard to keep it close and received a first-half goal by Jean-Michel Dako and a second-half strike by Youssouf Diabate. Ben Jackson (Bury, UK) made a pair of saves for the win and Andre Leblanc made 4 saves in a losing cause. 

Turning Point: The game had some tense moments in the 2nd-half as the CAPERS tried to hold the lead. Daniel Pritchard's goal late in the second half put the game out of doubt.

- CBU's Heath led all players with 2 goals
- Bent, Jack Simpson (Redding, UK) & Caelann BUdhoo (Winnipeg, MB) each had 1 assist for the CAPERS
- Heath and Bent tied for the lead with 2 points

  • Moncton's Andre Leblanc led in saves with 4. made 11 saves in a losing effort
  • Bent led all players with 3 shots on goal

- The CAPERS remain undefeated at 1-0-1, Moncton Falls to 0-2-0 
- The CAPERS are the defending 2017 AUS Champions & 2017 U Sports National Champions
- Heath picked up a yellow card for the CAPERS, while Nikolas Landry & Sory Sangare each had a yellow for Moncton
