
SYDNEY — The Cape Breton University Capers women’s basketball team posted two definitive victories over their University of Prince Edward Island Panthers rivals in Atlantic University Sport weekend action at CBU’s Sullivan Field House.
CBU 77, UPEI 40
Karmen Brown netted a gamehigh 19 points and added nine rebounds to lead the Capers to a 77-40 victory over the Panthers, early Sunday afternoon.
Kari Everett and Kelsey Hodgson added 14 points apiece for the home side.
Pacing the Panthers was Katie Moore with nine points and eight rebounds.
The CBU squad was ahead by a whopping 42-12 at halftime.
CBU 84, UPEI 50
Saturday, Hodgson held the hot hand for the Capers, scoring 24 points to lead her team to an 84-50 win over the Panthers.
Following Hodgson were Jahlica Kirnon adding 15 points and Brown chipping in 12 points.
Kelly DeBow led UPEI, scoring 13 points and hauling down 11 rebounds.
The Capers were up 43-21 on the Panthers at halftime
