
SYDNEY — The Cape Breton University Capers women’s basketball team dominated the Memorial Sea-Hawks in a pair of Atlantic University Sport games at CBU’s Sullivan Field House over the weekend.
CBU 72, Memorial 55
Sunday, Kelsey Hodgson dominated with 30 points and four rebounds to lead the CBU women to a 72-55 victory over Memorial.
Pacing the Sea-Hawks’ offence were Victoria Thistle scoring 12 points and Grace Fishbein pot-
ting 10.
CBU 77, Memorial 53
Saturday, the Capers dropped the Sea-Hawks 77-53.
Leading CBU’s offence were Jahlica Kirnon with 21 points, Kari Everett hot on her heels with 20 points and six rebounds, and Karmen Brown posting 12 points and seven rebounds.
Top Memorial scorers were Alexandria Forsey recording 15 points and 11 rebounds, Fishbein adding 13 points and Thistle chipping in 10 points.
CBU 106, Memorial 70
The Capers mounted a balanced attack on Sunday to defeat the Sea-Hawks 106-70.
Leading CBU were Phil Nkrumah with 19 points and 10 rebounds, Jimmy Dorsey with 16 points and five rebounds, and Tremaine Fraser adding 14 points.
Jason Shepard held the hot hand for Memorial with a gamehigh 32 points.
CBU 118, Memorial 72
In earlier action Saturday, Dorsey recorded 24 points and three rebounds to lead the Capers to a 118-72 victory over the SeaHawks.
Following Dorsey were Lasario Burrows with 18 points and four rebounds, and Aljosa Alilovic adding 17 points and four rebounds.
Robbie Habib led Memorial with 20 points and four rebounds.
